AltDataRecovery - Raw Recovery
Raw Recovery helps you recover files from a seriously damaged file system. If you failed to recover files using File Recovery or UnFormat, you should try Raw Recovery. In a seriously damaged file system, the Microsoft Windows reference information is most likely lost. Therefore, the original file information such as file name and reference address can not be retrieved. Raw Recovery finds the missing files by searching the entire hard disk and identifying them by their file structure. The scan result (Found Files List) are organized by file type and the files are named using numbers. Raw Recovery supports various file types such as jpg, bmp, zip, exe and more. This function is very effective for recovering digital pictures taken by digital camera. In addition, a preview is shown for picture files.
The Raw Recovery
task can be finished in three simple steps.

Step 2. Select the files that you want to recover, then click Next to continue.
The Found Files List is organized by file type. Files in same file type are put in a folder named by the file extension name.

Step 3. Select or enter a directory where you want to store the recovered files.
We highly suggest you to select a directory that is not located in the same partition as the source partition. Because if the recovered files are copied to the partition, they will eventually replace the space that contains the source data. As a result, you will not able to get all the files you selected in the previous step.
